PARKS

In Carpi there is a remarkable number (about 120) of parks, public gardens and green areas connected to schools, widely distributed on the city territory and with different dimensions. 37) DRAINAGE CANALS

At the beginning of the XX century, in order to drain the excessive water in overflow periods and to provide water during the drought, the Bonifica Parmigiana Moglia-Secchia has made an important work of canalisation involving the whole territory, until the Apennines area. Beside the canals it is possible to see the water lifting systems with annexed close, a powerful evidence of industrial construction. There are brick structures and plastered inserts, in the XV century style, decorated with friezes, graffiti and paintings with big arched windows.
